A Unique Leadership Development Experience
Designed Specifically for the Energy Industry


WHO & WHAT

For over a decade, the Carolina Emerging Energy Leaders (CEEL) program has prepared up-and-coming professionals to excel in the energy industry. Participants gain essential skills, including: 

  • Leadership and Self-Awareness: Building emotional intelligence and personal leadership abilities.
  • Team Dynamics: Developing and managing high-performing teams.
  • Strategic Decision-Making: Learning analytical skills is crucial for sound decision-making.
  • Comprehensive Industry Knowledge: Gaining insights into the latest trends, challenges, and innovations.
  • Networking and Community: Forming valuable connections within the Carolinas’ energy sector.

HOW

The 2025 CEEL program is structured as six two-day sessions held at various strategic energy sites across the Carolinas, featuring:

  • Interactive Learning: Classroom sessions with industry leaders and seasoned instructors.
  • On-site Tours: Exclusive behind-the-scenes tours at major energy facilities.
  • Hands-On Experience: Small-group exercises and networking events to foster relationships and encourage peer learning.

2025 CEEL Session Schedule**: Each session is tailored to a unique aspect of the energy industry, blending leadership development with specific energy sector topics:

  • Session 1 (February): Focus on the energy economy and natural gas.
  • Session 2 (April): Leadership management and the renewable energy spectrum, including wind and hydro.
  • Session 3 (June): Industry structure and solar energy exploration.
  • Session 4 (September): Energy transition and climate change, with a focus on sustainability.
  • Session 5 (October): Advanced transportation and energy management innovations.
  • Session 6 (November): Strategic planning, utility operations, and nuclear energy.

WHY

CEEL is supported by leading energy companies like: AECOM, ABB, Bradley, ClearGen, Duke Energy, Dominion Energy, Electric Power Research Institute, Energy United, Flour, Framatome, Pike, Santee Cooper, Siemens Energy, Strata Energy, SunRun, UNC Charlotte, Westinghouse, WSP and more. Participants gain not only professional growth but also a rich network of contacts across the Carolinas.


COST

  • Member Rate: $6,800 per participant
  • Non-Member Rate: $8,000 per participant
    Governments and not-for-profit organizations qualify for the member rate.

Tuition includes program planning, instructional materials, professional coaching, local transportation for tours, and networking events.

 

Note: Travel and lodging are not included.
